Set within a Heritage Conservation Area in Kensington, this alterations and additions project reimagines a Federation home through a carefully considered contemporary addition. Designed to connect the existing living levels with the rear garden, the new works respond to the property's prominent corner location by enhancing privacy while creating generous spaces for entertaining.

The project includes a new swimming pool and cabana, forming a private sanctuary inspired by the clients' travels through Europe and the relaxed indoor-outdoor lifestyle of the Mediterranean. A palette of soft, natural tones and materials is complemented by strong architectural forms, creating a refined contemporary intervention that sits in deliberate contrast to the character of the original Federation residence. The result is a unique and cohesive family retreat that balances heritage charm with modern living.
